Is anyone listening?

R. Justice shall flourish in his time, and fullness of peace for ever. Cf. Psalm 72:7

Is anyone listening?!

As a parent, Catechist (teacher) or even friend, we can feel like we are John the Baptist! We are a voice crying out in the desert. Is anyone listening? Our message that Jesus is coming can get lost in the noise of our daily lives.

Paul’s encouragement comes with a plea for unity! “May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to think in harmony with one another, in keeping with Christ Jesus, that with one accord you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Rm 15:4-5 (4-9)

Keeping Jesus in mind or at the forefront of our life is a commitment, a decision. We must DO IT. Okay, try and keep trying! Think first and then choose. How can we get along? Our Catholic Christian faith family should keep in mind the mission of our universal Church, to tell others about Jesus. Like John the Baptist, we need to have a message. What will you say? How can you and I work together to bring the hope, peace and joy of Christ to the world today?
