What’s a Parable?

A parable is a story with a meaning. It has a purpose. Jesus wanted us to understand something better. And actually do something with it.

It is one of the smallest of all seeds (only 2.5mm), but when it has grown it is larger than all the garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and make nests in its branches. It is used as a spice and comes in different colors. It is ground and mixed with oil and vinegar to make the mustard topping we like so much. So what’s the point? What happens when the apostles ask Jesus to increase their faith? Jesus says that even if your faith is only a size of a mustard seed, it can still move mountains. WOW! Water your faith with prayer, study and practice and see how it grows!
