Peace I give you…What are you waiting for?
One of my favorite passages is below. I always need encouragement. I am always looking for ways to “maintain” my peace. I know that Jesus said, “My Peace I give you…”
Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful. John 14:27
It’s not the peace of having no worries or problems but knowing that God can handle it. I can put everything in His hands! Sometimes, I need to remind myself. This quote is helpful! Through Him, With Him and In Him (sound familiar?).
“Don’t ever allow yourself
to become upset by your misfortunes.
In face of your misery,
should you find yourself in this situation by the will of God,
remain humble and lowly before God,
and be at great peace.
Respond to all misfortune,
whatever it may be,
with gentleness, peace, tenderness,
and interior moderation before God,
abandoning yourself
simply into His hands
so that He may make of you and in you
what He pleases. Wish calmly
and peacefully to live only
for Him, through Him and in Him.”
