Walking in faith

As director of a faith formation program, I enjoy sharing my newsletters. I also post resources each week on my web pages. This week’s inspiration is Walking in faith, a reason for hope.

Our classes start on September 3 so we are getting prepared now. I really appreciate all of our volunteers who help to make this a dynamic and faith-filled year!

The catechetical theme this year is from 1 Peter 3:15. We should always be ready to give a reason for our hope. I think hope is even harder that faith. The three theological virtues of faith, hope and charity (love in action) can’t be divided. Yes, it takes trust and believing in a power greater than yourself.

One of my favorite scriptures is from St. Paul’s second letter to the Corinthians (Ch. 5), for we walk by faith, not by sight. Living by faith embraces the gift of today and it’s possibilities. Yes, we will face challenges, but we are not alone. In Chapter 4, he tells us that God’s grace reaches more and more people and we shouldn’t become discouraged. As we walk by faith, we share God’s grace. Our actions show we are disciples of Christ. In Chapter 6, he tells us not to let God’s grace be wasted!

Can you be a reason for hope? We all need some encouragement. Even if we start with a smile for everyone we meet, we can bring hope.

Today’s song: Grace Got You I love this dance version! Feel the grace! Dance!

Peace and all good, Donna
